​​About The Role

As Trainee Musical Librarian you will:

• Welcome members, volunteers and visitors to the Music Broth hub.

• Support the day-to-day operation of the instrument library and front-of-house activities.

• Assist with instrument lending, returns and membership enquiries.

• Help people access Music Broth's services, particularly those experiencing language or cultural barriers.

• Support volunteer recruitment, inductions and community taster sessions.

• Encourage participation from New Scot communities and act as a peer ambassador for the organisation.

• Support interpretation and accessible communication where appropriate.

• Help coordinate a buddy approach to support new volunteers into front-of-house, repair, events and other volunteering opportunities.

• Assist with library administration, record keeping and day-to-day operational tasks.

• Support workshops, events and community engagement activities as required.

• Contribute to monitoring, evaluation and learning to help shape future volunteer and training pathways.

• Work collaboratively with the Music Broth team, volunteers and partner organisations to ensure activities remain inclusive, accessible and representative of Music Broth's values.

Details

• Fixed-term, self-employed contract

• September 2026 – February 2027

• £4,435 (approximately 330 hours at the Real Living Wage rate of £13.45/hour)

• Flexible delivery

Location 
Based at Music Broth's Glasgow hub in Finnieston, supporting projects across Glasgow and contributing to regional activity across Scotland where appropriate.
